Devotional Meetings

Whensoever a company of people shall gather in a meeting place, shall engage in glorifying God,

and shall speak with one another of the mysteries of God, beyond any doubt the breathings

of the Holy Spirit will blow gently over them, and each shall receive a share thereof.

(Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 94)

Devotional Gatherings for Inspiration and Renewal

An insightful document about devotionals

Inspiration, rejuvenation, motivation, purpose, meaning—all are essential ingredients to one’s

sense that his or her life is on track, is worth living. As we learn in “Reflections on the Life of

the Spirit”, Book 1 of the Ruhi Institute, the Baha’i teachings prescribe daily prayer and

intimate communion with God as the foundation for a life devoted to spiritual advancement

and service to humanity. The Word of God, say the Bahá'í writings, provides inspiration,

rejuvenates souls, gladdens hearts, and renews one’s sense of purpose.

An extension course titled: Devotional Meetings can be offered to Book One study circles with the opportunity to study this material together.
Offered as an optional extension to Book One, this workshop will provide the necessary understanding and enthusiasm needed to begin running devotional meetings.
